What Yoga Can Mean To You
Debra subscribes to a therapeutic style of yoga that helps students recognize unconscious physical habits and replace them with new, healthier behaviors that improve posture, body alignment, and overall good health. Having trained with Buddhist scholars, anatomy experts, and many Iyengar, Hatha, and Vinyasa masters, Debra believes that a regular yoga practice can be transformative, changing not only your physiology but how you think, act, and feel. Whether she’s hosting a workshop, teaching a private, one-on-one session, or moving a class through a sequence of poses, Debra focuses on form and proper alignment, using props, hands-on adjustments, and geometric measures to realign your body so that you feel better and function more efficiently. The result: less tension in the body, a psyche that’s more resilient to the stresses of everyday life, and, with regular practice, a newfound sense of freedom—both physically and psychologically.
Schedule a One-on-One Session Now
Private sessions offer the kind of tailored, therapeutic yoga experience that’s not always possible in a group class. If you’re suffering from a sports injury, want to improve your posture and range of motion, or simply hope to tame the effects of the aging process, you will benefit from a one-on-one session targeted to your specific needs. Debra will analyze your body’s structure, pinpoint alignment issues and habits, then develop a series of poses designed specifically for you. As Debra guides you through your practice, she’ll help you strengthen your legs, open your hips, and release your lower back and hamstrings, all while elongating the spine and strengthening the health of your organs. As you begin to move more fluidly with less stiffness and pain, your overall mood and ability to tackle the stresses of day-to-day life will likely improve as well.
